A late 19th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver covered milk jug, Madras circa 1890
Raj period, of tapering rounded circular form upon a spreading circular foot, the short spout opposite a chased C scroll handle. The hinged domed lid surmounted by a cast and chased finial of a seated deity. The body with embossed vignettes of deities in the Swami style, reserved with foliate scrolls between acanthus leaf borders, the lid similarly decorated.
