BORDEAUX, RED 1961 CHATEAU PALMER MARGAUX 8x75cl

1961 Chateau Palmer Margaux

Ullage 2 x Mid shoulder, 4 x Low shoulder, 1 x High shoulder, 1 x Very low shoulder
One missing label

More of the exceptional 1961 vintage. Palmer started to become exceptional in the 1960's owned by two passionate wine owning, making and trading families, the Sichel and the Mahler-Besse. Indeed many people felt the Palmer 1966 outstripped many 1st Growths. There is one bottle with a bigger ullage, and therefor of risk, but I included, as so often I have been surprised how badly ullaged bottles can turn out.

Christopher Burr MW.

From the temperature-controlled cellar of a South of France estate, owned by a distinguished collector of fine and rare mature wines. It is worth noting that the prized damp conditions, ideal for ageing, have led to some label deterioration.

Estimated at £7,500 - £12,000
