A LARGE GOLD NASTA’LIQ CALLIGRAPHIC PANEL
Iran or Ottoman Turkey, 18th - 19th century

Turki manuscript in gold on blue paper, the large single line of blessing (Ya Rabb bu banaye yuz tabarak ulsun: oh Lord, a hundred blessing on this edifice) enhanced with floral clusters and curvilinear patterns in a fine gold pen, the lower left corner inscribed Imad al-Hasani, set within a dark blue border illuminated with a scrolling floral frieze, multiple rules in polychromes, mounted, framed and glazed, the text panel 18.2cm x 14.5cm, 44.3cm x 65.2cm including the frame.
