the Louis XV style clock modelled as a pair of putti holding aloft an ornate ormolu, Rococo style cartouche centred by the clock dial and surmounted by a basket of flowers and issuing eight scrolling candelabra branches, the candle nozzles with leafy collars, the whole raised on a foliate cast, circular plinth, the white enamelled dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers, signed 'Jules Graux BRONZES D'ART A PARIS', the twin train movement stamped 'Japy Freres' and 'H.P.', striking on a bell, with pendulum

The clock is winding, ticking and striking but not fully tested or guaranteed.

Jules Graux et Cie exhibited at the 1878 Paris Exposition Universelle and were known for producing high quality bronze clocks, candelabra, statuettes and other furnishings. They were based at 8 rue du Parc-Royal from 1860, and this clock must date to before 1880 when the sons joined their father's firm and it was renamed Graux Marly, their works were signed GRAUX-MARLY or GRAUX-MARLY FRÈRES.
