A FINE EARLY 19TH CENTURY 'PALAIS ROYAL' MOTHER OF PEARL AND GILT BRONZE CANDLESTICK, VIENNA, CIRCA 1825 the faceted, mother of pearl veneered central shaft below height adjustable stem with anthemion handle, supporting the mother of pearl guard, finely painted with a scene of a coach and horses in a landscape with a monument, with a serpent wrapped around the central stem terminating in a single candle nozzle with leafy collar and gadrooned base, raised on a rectangular base with cut corners and four scrolling feet, 39cm high at full height Auction comparable: See Sotheby's, London, 10 July 2013, lot 154, sold £3750.
