***Flemish artist Cornelis de Bruyn (1652-1727) journeyed East from 1674 to 1693 and again from 1701 to 1708. He made hundreds of drawings, which he wrote were “the chief aim of my travels”, and supervised the process of publishing them as etchings upon his return.
