SELECTION OF VIEWS OF TURKEY, c.1870-1915, subjects include views of Istanbul, group pictures, portraits, Italian soldiers during the Italo-Turkish war (1911-1912), Turkish locations comprise Smyrna, the interiors of Hagia Sophia, as well as the outside, Bosporus, Tophane, Galata (Istanbul), photographers include Sébah & Joaillier (1888-1908), Mihran Iranian (active 1890s), Gulmez Freres (active 1890s) and the Abdullah Frères (active 1856-1908). Albumen prints (79), image size, approx. 275 x 213mm, 215 x 167mm, some examples mounted on loose album leaf, others on vintage paper card, some examples titled, numbered, and signed in the negative, others titled and dated in ink mount lower margin, two examples with typed label affixed verso.
