A CHINESE EXPORT SILVER BOWL.

Qing dynasty, circa 1900, retailed by Wa Chun.

Of hemispherical form with a moulded rim upon a tapering collet foot, the body with embossed decoration of two trailing Chinese dragons amidst clouds chasing the mystic pearl, forming a vacant cartouche, all against a matted ground. Marked underneath with retailers’ mark W.A twice and artisan mark CHENG CHANG 成昌, together with an early 20th Century Chinese Export dressing table box, Shanghai circa 1920, retailed by Cum Wo of Hong Kong, cylindrical form with a pull off lid, with embossed decoration of chrysanthemums, gilt interior, marked underneath with retailer’s mark CW and artisan mark RUI JI 瑞記, the bowl, 12.4cm dimaeter, the box 8.2cm diameter, total weight 300g. (3)
