Of pyriform shape, resting on a short straight foot, rising to a gently waisted tapering neck, underglaze-painted in ruby copper-lustre and cobalt blue pigment on white ground, the decoration consisting of floral panels to the body, featuring stems of poppies alternating with a floral arabesque-like gridwork, a horizontal band of cobalt blue leaves to the shoulders and further panels with geometric designs to the neck, leading to a band of chevrons and squares to the rim, the base marked with the Cantagalli rooster and numbered 39, 26.7cm.
