A RARE LATE 19TH CENTURY VIENNESE ENAMEL AND SILVER SLEIGH BY LUDWIG POLITZER the interior decorated with an Arcadian scene of shepherds and ladies with sheep, the exterior with similar scenes on a cream ground and scrolling foliage, with impressed maker's mark L.P., 16.5cm wide x 8.5cm high Ludwig Politzer was one of the most well respected silversmiths and jewellers in Vienna in the 19th century. Born in 1841 he was working until 1907 and exhibitied at the International Exhbitions in Paris in 1878 and 1900. His work is featured in numerous museums including the Victoria & Albert, London.
