AN EGYPTIAN WOOD BA BIRD Ptolemaic Period, 305 - 30 B.C. Standing on an integral base, the human-headed bird wears a tripartite wig and a false beard, with extensive gesso surviving, 9.1cm high. Provenance: Louis-Gabriel Bellon (1819-1899); Private collection Rome.
