A 12TH CENTURY PERSIAN SELJUK JUG WITH SILVER AND COPPER INLAY

A silver and copper alloy jug, Seljuk Persia, 12th century

Of faceted globular piriform with band of kufic calligraphy, floral roundels alternating with roundels with geometric design resting on a flared pedestal foot. Lid surmounted with a rounded pronged finial. 27cm high
