Royal Ambassadorial – A pair of George III sterling silver second course dish covers, London 1771 by Thomas Heming overstriking James and Sebastian Crespell

Each of shaped circular form with fluted cavetto edge below a gadrooned rim. The handles formed as gadrooned scroll sections upon gadrooned terraces. Engraved to the side with the Royal Coat of Arms of King George III of Great Britain (used 1760-1801). Each fully marked inside, Heming mark (Grimwade 3828). (2)

Quarterly of 4: 1st Plantagenet (England) impaling Stuart (Scotland); 2nd: France; 3rd: Ireland; 4th Elector of Hanover (lesser coat of arms of Elector of Hanover)
