AN EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF HARPOCRATES Roman Period, Circa 1st Century B.C. - 2nd Century A.D. Depicted seated, wearing a tunic that falls in thick folds across his body and legs, a horned headdress, and the sidelock of youth, his right hand raised to his face with extended index finger, 6.1cm high. Provenance: Gustave Mustaki, Alexandria, Egypt; exported from Egypt to the UK under licence c.1950; Elsa MacLellan, Portsmouth, UK; thence by descent from the above; Private collection, London, UK; thence by descent from the above; Private collection of a lady, Rome.
