A George V sterling silver and burr walnut cigarette box, London 1919 by Charles Lovell Simmonds (reg. 1916)

Of rectangular form with hinged lid raised by a simple thumbpiece. The burr walnut inset lid inlaid with silver strapwork, a central vacant circular cartouche. Wooden interior. The underside lined with crocodile. Fully and part-marked, Maker's mark C.L.S.
