A pair of George II sterling silver candlesticks, London 1751 by William Gould
Each with shaped circular bases formed as scrolls and rocaille sections, four Green Man masks leading to foliate sections rising to a C scroll knop below a waisted moulded column, the upper knop formed as Green Man masks with C scrolls, the capital with graduated stacks of rocaille shells. The removable cast sconces formed as palm leaves. Each fully marked underneath and lion passant and maker’s mark to the capitals, the sconces unmarked. (2)
