Ink, pencil, and white wash on paper, the small-sized portrait depicting a notable Ottoman ambassador wearing a voluminous turban and holding a misbaha (rosary beads) and a scroll in his hand, possibly a firman, signed in pencil on the lower right Mahmud, mounted, glazed and framed, the sketch 11.5cm x 6.5cm, 22cm x 17cm including the frame.
