THE EXCEPTIONAL EGG BY HERMANN BOEHM A LATE 19TH CENTURY VIENNESE ROCK CRYSTAL, ENAMEL, SILVER AND SILVER GILT TABLE CLOCK MODELLED AS AN EGG the rock crystal egg cut with a constellation of stars and surmounted by a silver and enamelled putto with a basket of roses, raised on a triform stand modelled as three dolphins, above a circular foot, the underside stamped 'HB' for Hermann Boehm, the upper section of the egg hinged to reveal the finely enamelled dial with Roman numerals, the watch type movement with verge escapement signed 'Phi Terrot A GENEVE A 1820',  18.5cm high Tardy records Philippe Terrot as working on enamel watches, his father was a refugee who arrived in Geneva in 1732.
