A FIRST QUARTER 20 TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT BRONZE AND CARVED IVORY FIGURE OF 'LA RECONNASSANCE' AFTER THE MODEL BY LOUIS-ERNEST BARRIAS (FRENCH 1841-1905) CAST BY SUSSE FRERES OF PARIS, the model executed in 1900, the arms, bust and foot of the female figure carved in ivory, her raised arm holding a gilt stylus in one hand as she turns back, the long draping dress in gilt bronze, the base of the dress signed 'E. Barrias', stamped with a founder’s medallion and signed 'Susse Frères Éditeurs', mounted on a chamfered green marble base and support held by a gilt bronze bracket to the reverse, 33cm high, 11cm wide
