Drummond Oil on board in a birds eye maple wooden frame 47cm x 38cm Lord Byron wrote to his dear friend and travel companion John Hobhouse, first Baron Broughton: 'My dear Tom, I really cannot go on. There is a pair of great black eyes looking over my shoulder so that I must turn and answer them instead of you'.
