A collection of five hand-coloured lithographs from ‘Illustrations of the Family of Psittacidae or Parrots’, including: Palaeornis Rosaceus, Roseate Parakeet; Palaeornis Anthopeplus, Blossom Feathered Parakeet; Platycercus Pileatus, Red-capped Parakeet; Platycercus Stanley II, Stanley Parakeet; Trichoglossus Matoni, Maton’s Parakeet; some spotting, two slipped in mount, framed, v.s. up to 36 x 26cm image, 71 x 54cm frames, Hullmandel & Walter, 1832 (5)

*** ‘Illustrations of the Family of Psittacidae or Parrots’ is an 1832 book containing 42 hand-coloured lithographs by Edward Lear. The famous ornithologist and botanist Prideaux John Selby said the plates were "beautifully coloured & I think infinitely superior to Audubon's in softness and the drawing as good".
