PROVENANCE:
Acquired directly from the artist by the present owner

This is a study for a mural to decorate the tearoom for the 'Britain Can Make It' held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1946. This depicted four Commedia dell'Arte figures and three circus performers with a monkey.

The proceeds from the sale of this group (Lots 61-69) will support the restoration of Hans Feibusch's mural at St John's, Waterloo in London.
