Sodar's set of views of twelve sanctuaries of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem includes those of Christ's Tomb, St Helena, and the Finding of the Cross. A group of Sodar's works, presented to Pope Leo XIII (1810-1903) earned him the gold medal of Christian artists, with the congratulations and blessing of the pontiff.
