AN EXCEPTIONAL 19TH CENTURY VIENNESE ENAMEL, SILVER AND SILVER GILT, LAPIS LAZULI AND GEM SET TABLE CLOCK DEPICTING REBECCA AT THE WELL, CIRCA 1870 IN THE MANNER OF HERMANN RATZERSDORFER (1845-1894) modelled as a portico supported by a pair of columns set with seed pearls, emeralds, rubies and sapphires, with a pierced balustrade above and the clock case, the sides of the clock case with strapwork inlaid enamelling, the back decorated with a pair of exotic birds amongst flowers and surmounted by a lapis lazuli vase of flowers, the flowers set with seed pearls, rubies and emeralds, the shaped stepped plinth also set with lapis lazuli and supporting a pair of female figures, each holding a ewer made from a single faceted amethyst, their gowns set with sapphires and rubies, centred by the well with bucket hanging on a silver chain, the timepiece with sapphire set bezel and Roman numerals, the watch type movement with balance wheel escapement, 26cm high
