AN ANTIQUE SAROUK-FERAGHAN RUG, WEST PERSIA

The ivory field with delicate palmette and leafy vine around bold floral medallion with pendants containing polychome radiating floral centrpiece. Shaded red floral spandrels. In an indigo border of multicoloured palmettes and angular floral and leafy vine between panel stripes, approx: 5ft.2in. x 3ft.3in.(157cm. x 99cm.) Good type with very nicely drawn design and good colour combination. This rug has slight wear in few places, otherwise good pile. Selvages rebound, well done. One end with short fringes, other one with original kilim. In general this rug is in good usable conditon. Attractive and elegant piece.
