A LATE 19TH / EARLY 20TH CENTURY MARBLE AND TINTED ALABASTER BUST OF 'ALBA DI PACE' (DAWN OF PEACE) BY PROFESSOR GIUSEPPE BESSI (ITALIAN 1857 - 1922) her raised head crowned with a laurel wreath, her head and neck wrapped in a wind swept scarf flowing into her bodice with voluminous short shelves carved with a floral brocade, signed to the rear 'Prof G. Bessi', 46cm high, together with a contemporary grey-veined white marble stepped plinth pedestal and column, the column support with vineous scene to the waist on a circular socle with octagonal foot, 166cm in total (2)
