A George III sterling silver tea caddy, London 1793 by John Scofield (reg. 13th Jan 1778)
Of shaped oval form with curved ends, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable opposable ring pull handle. Lock mechanism (key deficient, untested). The front engraved with a crest of a wing erect, charged with three bars. Fully marked underneath, the lid with lion passant only.
