Hanoverian pattern, engraved to the terminal with initials GB in Roman script. Each marked twice with maker’s mark, different sizes. (2)

Length – 12.1 cm / 4.75 inches

Weight – 21 grams / 0.68 ozt

Samuel Thompson II of Elvert Bridge, Durham registered his mark in the Newcastle assay office 1^st March 1751, but as his father Samuel Thompson I had died on 2^nd July 1747 it is possible his mark was used earlier than when it was registered. The survival rate for Samuel Thompson items is very low, mostly just teaspoons.
