Bernardino Poccetti together Cosimo Daddi explored the present subject in the Chapel’s frescoes of the Villa Medicea della Petraia between 1575 and 1630.
Another drawing of this subject was exhibited by Kate de Rothschild, London (Exhibition of Old Master Drawings, 1987, no. 15)(Fig. 1).
The pen and brown ink over red chalk technique can be found on other lunette shaped working studies by Poccetti such as the one preparatory for the Santa Maria degli Angeli cloister and formerly attributed to Federico Zuccaro.
