A Victorian sterling silver four-piece tea and coffee service, London 1847 by Daniel and Charles Houle

Comprising a teapot, a coffee pot, a milk jug, and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of panelled baluster form upon four scroll feet with cartouche shaped junctions. The pots with panelled scroll spouts opposite cartouche capped C scroll handles fitted with ivory insulators pinned to scroll junctions, the base joint bifurcated. The hinged domed lid surmounted by detachable polyform knop finials, with shaped scroll rims. The bodies with engraved decoration of cartouches, vacant to either side or otherwise infilled with flowers reserved with lattice work. The sugar bowl with a gilt interior. Each fully marked underneath, the lids, handles and finials part-marked, the retaining nuts with makers mark and lion passant only. (4)
