A ROMAN TERRACOTTA OIL LAMP AND STAND Circa 2nd - 4th Century A.D. The lamp modelled with a globular body with a raised filling hole and a long upward curving spout, it sits upon a tall stand with a shaft with a heptagonal cross-section, a decorative foot with a repeated triangular pattern in deep relief, the triangular design is repeated on the knop at the top of the shaft which is surmounted by the flat dish for the lamp, the stand 32.5cm high and the lamp, 22.2cm long, (2) Provenance: Acquired on the London art market in the 1990s.
