A FINE KASHAN PRAYER RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA

The sang de boeuf field with two floral columns, supporting two floral and Arabesque columns supporting light blue floral and bird motif mihrab with hanging pendant. Flowering vase and cross floral and bird cross panel below, in an indigo border of pictorial cartouches, floral bouquets, and floral and leafy sprays between flowering vine, reciprocal and plain stripes. approximately 201cm. x 133cm: Very good type with very nicely drawn design. Colours are well balanced. This rug has full pile of very fine kurk wool quality. Fine weave approximately 7 x 7 knots per square centimetre. Selvages original,cord edfe with light touches of wear to the top pile in few places, tiny hole on cord edge, ends with short fringes. In general this rug is in very good useable condition. Attactive piece.
