AN ANTIQUE BOKHARA RUG, TURKEMNISTAN

The soft rust field with three coloumns of linked floral guls divided by kotchak motifs. In sunburst floral octagons and unusual angular leafy vine border between kotchak, barber-pole and plain stripes. Serrated leaf skirt at each end, approx: 219cm. x 147cm. Classic for this typoe with typical design and colours combination. This rug has slight localized wear to the pile in places on the field. Wool on selvages slightly fraying in places. Ends with original kilim and fringes also s very lightly fraying in couple of places at one end. In general this rug is in good usable condition. Popular type at present market. Good furnishing piece.
