A ROMANO-EGYPTIAN ALABASTER ALABASTRON Circa 1st Century B.C. - 1st Century A.D. With a tapering rounded body, surmounted by a slightly flared neck and a wide convex lip, the shoulder and neck are decorated with two wheel-cut grooves, 20.5cm high,  Provenance: Ex Sotheby's Conduit Street 22nd May 1989. Literature: For similar examples see Sir W. M. Flinders Petrie 'Stone and Metal Vases' (reprinted Warminster 1977) pl. XXXVII, nos. 962 & 968.
