AN UNUSUAL HERIZ CARPET, NORTH-WEST PERSIA

The shaded brick-red field with overall design of bold hooked leaves, multicoloured hooked large palmettes and angular floral tendrils. In sandy-yellow border of polychrome palmettes and angular leafy vine between floral meander, linked lozenge and barber-pole stripes, approx:310cm. x 195cm. Veey nice overall design, more associated with Bijar type. Colours are well balanced. Bold appearance. Apart of very slight wear to the top pile in few small places, barely visible, this carpet good pile and in general is in very good usable condition. Selvages original with touches of rebound in few places, well done. Ends with short fringes. Attractive and very good furnishing piece. Popular type.
