AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY FRENCH EMPIRE PERIOD BURR WALNUT AND GILT BRONZE MOUNTED TABLE CLOCK BY LEPINE, PARIS the case possibly of later date and associated, of architectural form with ormolu mounts of classical herms with tapering pilasters over their finely cast feet, the bases of the columns with winged angel appliques, on a plinth base, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, signed 'Lepine, h. de l'Impératrice', the top of the case lifting to access the flat-bottomed movement with silk suspension and outside countwheel, striking full and half hours on a bell, with pendulum, 44cm high PLEASE NOTE: the movement is signed Lepine a Paris No. 4551 The movement is winding, ticking and striking but not fully tested or guaranteed.  Related Literature: Tardy records a repeating watch dated 1763 similarly signed 'Lepine, h. de l'Imperatrice'.
