ALFRED BARYE (1839-1882): A LATE 19TH CENTURY COLD PAINTED SPELTER MODEL OF AN ARAB RIDING A CAMEL 'CAVALIER ARABE' on a naturalistic base signed 'BARYE FRANCE', raised on a Verdi Antico, oval marble plinth, 34cm high Alfred Barye was known to have produced sculpture in spelter and cold painted spelter in the Orientalist style, he is most famous for his large figure of 'Cavalier Arabe' which he produced with Emile-Coriolan-Hippolyte Guillemin.
