A late 19th century Anglo – Indian silver scent bottle, Calcutta, Bhowanipore circa 1890 by Grish Chunder Dutt
Raj period. Of cylindrical form with a hinged domed cap, engraved with an initials D in gothic script, stopper deficient. The body with chased decoration in village. Marked underneath GRISH CHUNDER DUTT BHOWANIPORE CALCUTTA. Together with another scent bottle, Karachi circa 1920, of square section with a screw thread bulbous cap, chased in jungle pattern, the shield shape cartouche engraved LM in cypher. Marked underneath LM and T90. Another small scent bottle, Bombay circa 1920, chased with animals in vignettes. (3)
