AN EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE RELIEF FRAGMENT Late Period, 30th Dynasty, Circa 362 - 361 B.C. Carved with part of the cartouche of the Pharaoh Teos, on the left a figure of a falcon-headed god, Re-Herakhty, wearing a sun disc headdress, holding a Was sceptre, facing a figure of the goddess Maat, wearing a wig, with her attribute the feather of truth protruding from the crown of her head, an ankh is depicted between the two figures, held by Maat, 10.5cm long. 9.5cm high. Published: Charles Ede - Small Sculpture from Ancient Egypt XXII, no.11, 1995. Provenance: Eternal Egypt 1994; Private collection of a lady, Rome.
