A QUM RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA

The ivory field with scrolling floral and leafy vine together with polychorme plamettes and rosettes around cusped rust-red and light blue double floral medallion with pendants. Beige and light blue spandrels similar. In an indigo border of stylised checkered vases, bold rosettes, hooked bars and small floral motfs between light blue and rust-red flowering vine stripes. Outer barber-pole and plain stripes, approx: 6ft.9in. x 4ft.5in.(206cm. x 135cm.) Very good type, early 20th cetury. Design is well dawn and colours are well blended. This rug has slight localized wear to the top pile, barely visible. Touches of wear on the side edges. Selvages rebound. Ends with short fringes, secured.
