Two Russian Nicholas II enamel coronation beakers, dated 1896, the so-called 'Cup of Sorrows' for the Coronation of the Tsar, each with damages to the enamel, each 10.5cm high; together with a Victorian enamel diamond jubilee beaker, of similar design, given by the Borough of Derby, 20th June 1897, by Sir Thomas-Roe KT, Mayor, 9cm high (3)

Note: The two Russian beakers in this lot were made to commemorate the Russian Imperial Coronation of Tsar Nicholas II. Tragedy struck when the crowd celebrating and receiving gifts of these beakers surged and panicked, leading to injuries and nearly 1400 deaths, known as the Khodynka Tragdey.
