A BALOUCH CARPET, NORTHEAST PERSIA, AND A BIDJAR RUG

A BALOUCH CARPET, NORTHEAST PERSIA, AND A BIDJAR RUG, the Balouch with shaded dark blue field with overall design of open leafy panels, surrounded by hooked vine and various hooked and angular motifs, in shaded light rust border of hooked motif and hooked vine, between rosette, barber pole and plain stripes, wide tassle and stripe kelim at each end. The Bidjar with shaded indigo field containing large hooked and angular floral motifs and angular vine in palmetted and vine narrow border between floral meander, barber pole and plain stripes.

Bidjar Approx. 161cm x 103cm

Condition Report: Balouch. Very good type, seldom found in carpet size at sales. The design is well drawn. This piece has old repairs to the field and the border, well done. Localized wear down to the knot collar. Selvages original with slightly fraying cord in a few places. Ends with original kilim and fringes, slighty fraying to one end. In general decent useable condition.

Bidjar. Good type with very nicely drawn design and good colours. This rug has localized losses to the guard stripes at the ends. Selvages fraying with a few small damages. Field with localozed wear down to the knot collar and below. In general useable condition despite imperfections.
