A Victorian sterling silver four-piece tea and coffee service, Sheffield 1897 by Mappin Brothers

Comprising a teapot, a coffee pot, a milk jug and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of ogee inverted baluster form with an everted wavy rim all raised upon four simple paw feet with acanthus leaf junctions. The pots with wooden C scroll handles pinned to scroll junctions, with hinged domed fluted lids surmounted by detachable shaped knop finials. The bodies with chased decoration of foliate scrolls and foliage, centred with a vacant shield shape cartouche to each side, one with an engraved cypher PPC. Each fully marked underneath and part-marked to lids. (4)
