A George III sterling silver waiter, London 1768 by John Carter II
Of hexafoil form with a shaped cavetto edge and a gadrooned rim, all raised on three pad feet. The field centre engraved with an impaled coat of arms within a rocaille C scroll cartouche surrounded with foliage. Fully marked to the reverse.
Diameter – 18 cm / 7.1 inches
Weight – 284 grams / 9.13 ozt
The arms are possibly for Favell of York, Mittchell, or Chadder impaling
