Opaque pigments, red and black ink on wove French papers, comprising two scenes with pairs of traditionally-clad men and women in conversation, and two rural life scenes illustrating women selling fans and a man collecting coconuts to produce coconut water, each folio stamped at the back in red with the French Rouen Paper Mill mark, each illustration pasted onto a larger folio watermarked BFK Rives, a paper mill founded in 1787 in Rives and established in 1820 as the Blanchet Frères & Kléber Rives paper mill, the largest illustration 18cm x 32cm.
