A Dudgeon Type Sphygmograph/Pulseometer, English, Circa 1880-1920s. A metal plated with fabric strap, pulse recording instrument, designed by Robert Ellis Dudgeon in the 1860s, this example manufactured by Wood & Co York. A small clockwork mechanism within the instrument drives a smoked paper strip across a plate.
