The brick-red field with angular palmette and leafy vine around large hooked and stepped medallion with hooked pendants containing palmette cartouches enclosing smaller shaped panel with bold multicoloured radiating floral centrepiece. Ivory spandrels similar. In an indigo border of stylised turtle-palmettes abetween angular floral vine and plain stripes, approx; 312cm. x 243cm. Classic for this type with well drawn design and good colour combination. This carpet has good pile. Ends with short fringes. Selvages original. In general this carpet is in very good usable condition. Popular at present market. Very good furnishing piece.
