A FINE ANTIQUE SENNEH RUG, WEST PERSIA

The light rust field with diagonal rows of stylised angular open panels and small angular flroal motfs around large light blue serrated pole medallion containing similar design. Indigo linked spandrels siimilar. In rust border of bold turtle-palmettes and angular floral vine between flight blue and ivory floral menader stripes. Outer barber-pole and plain stripes, approx: 6ft.6in. x 4ft.7in.(198cm. x 140cm.) Classic for this type with well drawn design and very good colours. This rug has very slight wear to the top pile in places, barely visible. Ends with short fringes, one with original kilim which is fraying in parts. Selvages original flraying in places. In general this rug is in good usable conditon. Attractive and very good furnishing piece
