A cased early Victorian sterling silver gilt card case, Birmingham 1838 by Taylor and Perry
Rectangular form with rounded sides, hinged lid. The body with finely pierced and chased decoration of foliage, foliate scrolls quartered with scallop shells all centred with shield shape cartouches, one side with engraved foliage, the other with Henrietta in gothic script heightened with flourishes. Fully marked between base and lid. Housed in a Moroccan leather case with a gilt edge, with a velvet interior, branded for Rankin, Goldsmith, Glasgow.
