AN EXTREMELY FINE PART SILK ISFAHAN CARPET, CENTRAL PERSIA approx: 14ft.1in. x 10ft.(429cm. x 305cm.) The soft ivory field with scrolling vine linking polychrome palmettes and floral sprays around double concentric floral and arabesque medallions. Soft light green floral and arabesque palmette spandrels. In light beige border of palmettes, fleur de Lys and scrolling floral vine between light blue and indigo floral meander stripes. Outer plain stripe. This carpet has full pile of superb kurk wool quality. Both ends with original kilim and fringes. Selvages original. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 10 knots per sq.cm; woven on silk foundation. There is  very small dot like localized light staining at one side, possibly improved with light cleaning, subject to professional quote. Very good type seldom found in large carpet size. Very attractive and great furnishing piece with good colour combination.
